ARGENTINA’S Guillermo Canas, conqueror of world No.1 Roger Federer,booked a semi-final spot in the Sony Ericsson Open with a 7-6 (7-5) 6-1 win over No.6 seed, Spain’s Tommy Robredo today (AEST).

Canas, who defeated Federer in the fourth round - his second upset of the mighty Swiss in as many tournaments - now faces No.7 seed Ivan Ljubicic from Croatia.

Ljubicic defeated Argentina’s Juan Ignacio Chela 6-3 7-5.

The other men’s semi-final is a battle between the teen prodigies, Serbia’s Novak Djokovic, who upset No.2 seed Rafael Nadal 6-3 6-4 yesterday, and Scotland’s Andy Murray.
