Men’s semis highlight Day 10 in Miami

Miami, FL - The men’s semifinals will be staged Friday at the Sony Ericsson Open, where Croat Ivan Ljubicic will take to the court as the highest-remaining seed still standing at this lucrative Masters Series event.A seventh-seeded Ljubicic, last year’s Miami runner-up to the great Roger Federer, will take on unseeded giant-killer Guillermo Canas. Djokovic is 2-0 lifetime against Murray, including a semifinal victory at the Masters Series event at Indian Wells two weeks ago. The Serb also prevailed in a Masters Series bout in Madrid last season.Djokovic finished as the Indian Wells runner-up to Rafael Nadal this month, but the young Serb avenged that setback this week by ousting the Spaniard here in the quarters.Friday’s victors will meet in the final on Sunday, with the winner of this $3.45 million tournament collecting $533,350.© 2007 The Sports Network
