SERBIA’S Novak Djokovic won the battle of the teens and a spot in the final of the Sony Ericsson Open, with a 6-1 6-0 rout of Scotland’s Andy Murray today (AEST).

Just two weeks after losing to Rafael Nadal in the final at Indian Wells, Djokovic, 19, earned another shot at his first career Masters Series title, advancing to tomorrow’s (AEST) decider where he will play either Argentina’s Guillermo Canas or Croatia’sIvan Ljubicic.

A confident Murray entered the semi-final having won more matches than any other player this season, but the 19-year-old never looked like adding to his total after the No.10 seed broke to go up 3-1 in the opening set, sweeping through 11 consecutive games to complete the embarrassing thrashing in just 62 minutes.

Having reached the semi-final after No.3 Andy Roddick was forced to retire from their quarter-final with a hamstring injury, a well-rested Murray produced a surprisingly listless display, and was jeered loudly by unhappy fans for his apparent lack of effort.

“That was the worse match I probably played since I have been on the Tour but no excuses,” said Murrays.

“I don’t want to make any excuses, he played much better than me today. He played a great match.

“I was trying to fight, trying to do some different things. I was definitely still fighting but nothing was happening for me.

“It was a humbling experience, I’m just going to have to work on my game to make sure it never happens again
