Murray crashes out in Miami
Andy Murray hurtled to a straight sets loss in the semi-final of the Miami Masters losing to Novak Djokovic 6-1 6-0.Murray was never really in the match while Djokovic took full advantage of a rare below-par performance from the Scot. The world number ten was lucky to gain an early lead in the match as Murray found the wrong side of the net cord on a number of occasions in the opening four games. However this gave Djokovic a 3-1 lead and led to Murray losing his temper. This did not do his cause any good and the Serb remained level-headed to claim
the first set 6-1.The downward spiral continued at the start of the second set as the world number 12 lost his serve once more. In the next game on Djokovic’s serve the Scot battled back to deuce but when that game was lost Murray’s desire seemed to disappear with it.A double-fault in the third game handed Djokovic another break of serve and he soon went 4-0 up. More unforced errors were to follow in his next service game and the Serb finally ended Murray’s misery serving out for the match. In what was billed as ‘the battle of the 19-year-olds’ Djokovic proved that there was little to contest winning the match in 62 minutes. He now has a 3-0 head-to-head record against Murray.Djokovic will face either Ivan Ljubicic or Guillermo Canas - the twice conqueror of Roger Federer - in the final on Sunday.© 2007 Adfero Ltd.
