ANA Ivanovic defeated Daniela Hantuchova 3-6 6-4 6-4 in the WTA Tour FORTIS Championships final in Luxembourg today.
Ivanovic, the No.2 seed from Serbia, has now won three titles this season after enjoting success in Berlin and Los Angeles.
Ivanovic struggled with her serve, which she dropped three times to concede the first set in 40 minutes.
Hantuchova, the
No.4 seed from Slovakia, then seemed to be racing to victory when she rushed to a 3-0 lead in the second set before dropping the next five games and losing the initiative.
Ivanvic’s confidence rose and she broke her opponent in the middle of the third set before coasting to victory.
Hantuchova won the pair’s only previous meeting, 6-3 6-1 on grass at ’s-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands earlier this year.
