AUSTRALIA has won both the Junior Davis Cup and Fed Cup competitions in Reggio Emilia, Italy.
The junior boys team wrapped up a 2-0 result against Argentina, with Bernard Tomic and Mark Verrith winning their singles matches.
The junior girls
required the doubles fixture, which they duly won after Sally Peers and Isabella Holland split their singles matches against Poland, to give them a 2-1 result.
Australia last reached the Junior Davis Cup final in 2000, when it was known as the World Youth Cup, and Ryan Henry and Todd Reid brought the trophy home with a win over Austria.
Australia’s girls last won the Junior Fed Cup in 1993, when Siobhan Drake-Brockman, Annabel Ellwood and Jodi Richardson defeated the US.
