Nadal beats Federer to win Monte Carlo

Monte Carlo - Rafael Nadal made history at the Monte Carlo Masters on Sunday winning a fourth straight title with a 7-5, 7-5, defeat of top rival Roger Federer.

Spain’s king of clay became the first player to win four consecutive titles since New Zealand’s Anthony Wilding from 1911-1914. The victory was the third in a final at the principality between Nadal and Federer, with the Spaniard winning his 24th career title and 19th on clay. © Deutsche Presse-Agentur
